I was a student when I arrive to Spain. When I was studying, I did a travel around North of Spain.
I had a date to go, but I didn’t have a date for come back, I took my backpack with the necessary things and I set out on amazing adventure to North of Spain from Madrid. My friend from Madrid gives me a ticket for the concert of U2 in Barcelona.
This was my destiny in this moment, but last the concert my idea was travel for all the North of Spain without to know how many days and what places I would visit. I believed that the travel during about the three days, but this was not so.
My first stop was Barcelona, I had never been in Barcelona before and I went to the U2 concert and I was here for 2 night more. Barcelona was beautiful!! Its architecture, streets, museums, people, restaurants, and its beaches.
My next stop was Zaragoza, I got a bus to this city and I found a beautiful place. I knew the Basilica-Cathedral of our Lady of the Pilar, it is one of the most important basilica in Spain.
In this moment, I didn’t know what was my next stop, but I look at the bus station what buses were and I bought a ticket to Pamplona and visited all this small city. In this city I call my friend’s friends because I has the number phone of them. I didn’t know them but that it was an opportunity to know them.
I call then and we did a new travel for all the beaches of the coastal North in their van. This van has a kitchen inside, that experience was amazing. We cook in the van and we went for whole the beautiful beaches during one week. We came back to Pamplona and I set out the next day to Lakabe alone again.
Lakabe was an ecological village of about 30 people, and you could visit it while you could learn about to made bread, agriculture, ecologic cuisine. Every day, they asked us what activity do we preferred to do. In this place has a piano and my principal activity was play the piano, ;) but I cut tomatoes in the garden too and others activities.
At that time, it had already pass about two week since I set out from Madrid… but my travel didn’t finished.
I kept on to Ariskuren, that was other ecological village of about 15 people, they was least organization than Lakabe, but that was amazing place too because it was in the hill mountains of the Pyrenees Spanish. I helped them with activities in the village too, for example, in the repair of the light in the store and other things in the garden.
I came back to Madrid two week and ones days more with my backpack and with a big smile in my face. That was a travel without plan. I knew me more, I felt me more and enjoyed it. I did wonderful friends and they are my best friends now, since 2005 when I set out on amazing adventure alone with my backpack.
